ColecoVision™ - Logo (Small)Frenzy™ by Stern was the sequel to Berzerk if I’m not mistaken. At any rate, the two games are very similar. I did not own this game as a kid, but purchased my copy as an adult and I’m so glad I did! This is a great game and I have a great example in excellent condition.

From the back of the box:

You’re mankind’s last hope… a lone humanoid caught in an unending series of deadly mazes! Each maze is different and each is defended by a squad of laser-firing robots. Eliminate as many of them as you can, maneuvering swiftly to avoid your most dangerous enemy, the dreaded Evil Otto!™ If you eliminate one, yet another Evil Otto™ will chase your humanoid even faster.

This game was one that I never even played as a kid. My neighbors the Johnson’s had Berzerk for the Atari 2600, and I really liked that game, but I never knew there was a sequel until years later. I bought this from atari2600.com as an adult and have enjoyed playing it very much! The controls are great and the action is intense. It is hard even on the easiest setting. Being able to blow holes in the purple walls is a great new feature that wasn’t there in Berzerk and adds a new challenge element to this game. I learned from another review that you can blow a hole in the wall to escape a level if you get into trouble too. That’s pretty advanced for a ColecoVision™ game! Anyway, I rate this game very high in comparison to other ColecoVision™ games that I have played. The graphics aren’t the best on the system, but the play control and fun level are as high as any other game on the platform. Try it if you get a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
