Aquattack™ was created in 1984 by Interphase Technologies, Inc. This game has sort of a side scrolling 3-D view where you pilot a hydroship and also a hang glider from right to left (most games go from left to right) blasting baddies and collecting items and fuel. I found this game to be very hard and never really advanced to the end. I did play it quite a bit however, because it was (at the time) a really cool perspective and was interesting and fun to play despite the difficulty level being quite high.
From the booklet:
Aquattack™ is the Euram code name for a mission to destroy the Axtoatle Combine. It is a perilous expedition because the Axtoatles defend their territory fiercly. Superior skill and finesse are required to successfully complete the mission. Your job is to guide the Euram agent Captain Blitztek through enemy territory to prevent the Axtoatles from taking control of world forces. If the defenders inflict more than nine damage points on the Captain, the mission is aborted and the game is over. A game point system has been devised to further measure your skills as a navigator and survivor.
It has been a very long time since I actually played this game, but I remember it to be a fun and super challenging game. I never finished it, but I always considered it to be one of my better games for the ColecoVision™. If I ever get the chance to go back and actually play this game again, and I’m sure someday I will make the time, I will write a more thorough review. If you’d like to submit a review on this game to be posted here, please use the contact link under the pages section to the right to send me an email and I will consider posting it here.
